Frequently asked questions about Stenhouse wedding photography
Can I pay by Credit Card?
Yes you can. If a client pays by Interac or cheque, I will pass the savings onto them. Typically it’s between a 4-5% reduction in the cost of your package.
Do we provide a videographer?
Not directly but we can refer you to a few of our associates.
Who will be shooting my wedding?
Kevin Stenhouse is the lead photographer at all our weddings. Second photographers are booked on a need-to basis.
Do you provide half-day coverage?
We provide half-day coverage for weddings other than Saturday’s from June until the end of September.
What is your style and approach?
Love, love, love and all the forms that it takes. Joy, spontaneous moments and real emotion captured in a professional and artistic manner. We believe everyone should enjoy the day to the fullest and we want that represented in the images we take. After 10 years of shooting the technical and logistical issue have all been resolved and we focus on making it the best experience possible. We hope it shows through in all of our work. We document the joy of your day in the most artistic way possible.
What are your packages like?
It’s difficult to put together packages that suit the huge variety of weddings that we have photographed over the years but we think we have a system. We have hourly à la carte packages, event bundle packages and flat day rates. These packages all include high resolution images with options to add albums.
How long does it take to get my images back?
We want the images to be perfect so typically between 4 to 6 weeks depending on the time year. 80% of our weddings being delivered with 4 weeks.
What are your albums like?
We offer albums from two different printing partners. Leather, Acrylic Linen and many more cover options. Sizes range from 8×10 to 16×20. We will posting images very soon.
Do you offer sign-in books?
Yes we have some very quality books with several cover options.
Do I get the high-resolution files and what can we do with them?
Yes, you receive all the high resolution files each individual colour and exposure corrected with selects getting a big more attention. You are allowed to print and share however you wish. You may not sell the images for profit or commercial usage. You may share it with your other venders such as florists, DJ and planners. We ask that the venders do give us a photo credit in return.
Do you have insurance
Yes, we are fully insured
Do you back-up your images?
Yes, we have both on and off-site backups
Where do we meet?
I have an artsy little space/studio in a warehouse building near downtown Calgary. I prefer meeting clients in this environment opposed to a coffee shop it allows for a more relaxed conversation and an option to see several albums. Studio is located at 323 10th avenue SW. Appointment only.

How do we book our date?
A signed contract with a retainer is required. Retainer is the lesser of $1,600 or 50% of your package
Can we change our package?
Yes you can make changes up until 1 month prior to the wedding day. You may also add time on the day of the wedding if you find you are running longer than anticipated
Do you offer off-season packages?
Yes, please contact us for details and to see if your date is eligible
We don’t like posing for the camera is that a problem?
Not a problem. Every client is unique and I take great pride in my ability to make people look happy, relaxed and natural in front of the camera. We address all the issues surrounding “how should I stand” and “what should I do with my hands” within minutes of your wedding or engagement session. You’ll feel comfortable in front of the camera in no time.

Do you travel?
Yes we do! Anywhere within a 90 minute radius of Calgary (including Banff) has no additional travel fees for your wedding day. We may even be able to waive travel fees for you engagement session if you have booked a wedding with us. There may be some licensing fees with different parks and municipalities please inquire for more details.
Do you do family photos at weddings?
Yes we do. Family images are a very important part of the complete package but we make sure to do them in the most efficient ways possible to make best use of our time.
Do you need a shot list from us?
Typically no except for larger families and extended families. If there is unique image that you wish to have please let us know.
Do you have a second photographer?
Yes, we have several talented photographers who love shooting a second photographer. We will soon be adding bios to those we work with the most.
My fiancé is not a big fan of having their photograph taken is that a problem?
Little known (okay no that little) secret of mine is that I really don’t like my photo being taken. To be 100% honest taking pictures as a kid was my way of ensuring I wouldn’t be in them. Always had an excuse for why I couldn’t set it up. Tell your fiancé we completely understand and will do everything in our power to make it as pleasurable as possible. One of my favourite complements to get is how comfortable and happy couples were with the process especially those filled with trepidation at the start. What if it rains?
This has always been a hard question to answer there are so many variables to take into account. Often venues have backup locations if needed. I do have a studio but never have had to use it for a wedding in 10 years. Once we discuss your wedding day I can give you options if it rains.
How far should we book in advance?
Some dates book as far ahead as 18 months others within weeks. My best advice is to contact me as soon as possible to secure your date. I have had years where 3 couples have wanted the same date within the same week.
